Tuesday MM - March 10th

Good Morning

Please keep the family of Konnoak student Alexander Torralba Perez in your thoughts and prayers. Our school family will respond with empathy and grace as one of our Kindergarten students in Marclea's class is related to Alexander and was present when the tragedy happened.  

Our students will need our best today as some will be deeply affected while others are oblivious to the news.   Speak with compassion and  listen well.  You are the leaders they look to for clues on how to react. 

Unfortunately, I will be at an elementary Principals meeting this morning and will return after lunch.  The agenda is posted in the blog documents folder.

Ecolab Inc. will sponsor its Visions for Learning Teachers Grants again this year. A quality education is one of our greatest assets and Ecolab is proud to continue our support for educators in the Piedmont Triad area. Ecolab will award a total of $77,000 to qualified grant recipients. Please find attached the 2015 Visions for Learning Grant application to share with your schools. 

ALL applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Completed applications may be submitted via email to kay.crc@ecolab.com. Please note this is the only email address where submissions will be accepted.

Monday MM - March 9th

Good Morning!

Please communicate with your families as we have an early release day this Wednesday.

Check with your PLT facilitator as to the schedule of LTM this week.  Some may not meet due to the Early Release day on Wednesday.

Access Testing is close to wrapping up!  Good work by all to facilitate this important assessment for growth of our LEP students.

Friday MM - March 6th

Good Morning!

This morning I will be at the EB participating in a PD titled, "Developing Ready Schools and Ready Classrooms."  I look forward to catching up after lunch.

Thanks to our SIT chair (Allison Phelps) and vice chair (Lisa Weber) for leading a great review meeting with our feedback committee. (Patsy Squire, Connie Rodgers & Janie Costello)  We will share the feedback at our faculty meeting on March 25th.

Let's all finish the book fair with class and grace as we help students make great choices.

Thursday MM - March 5th

Good Morning!

Good work on the Tornado drill.  We have some areas to improve and will work on revisions and an additional drill before the end of the month.

Please stop by the office and introduce yourself to Bonnie Fogg.  She will be our LTS for the Lead Secretary position until we hire.

Wednesday MM - March 4th

Good Morning!

WSFCS tornado drill will be at 9:30.  

Good work on the Book fair evening last night.  The activities were engaging and provided great interaction and community building.

We are thankful for Belle Booker-Zorigan's presentation to SIT last night on the CNA process.  Our SIT chair Allison will share our progress and plan at the staff meeting on March 25th.

Tuesday MM - March 3rd

Good morning!

I am at the joint principals meeting this morning and will return after lunch.  I have attached the reading assignment in the blog documents if you are interested.

SIT meets @ 3:30 today in Room 14

Bonnie Fogg will be joining us Thursday to fill the role of financial secretary until spring break.

Monday MM - March 2nd

Good Morning

The WSFCS district-wide Tornado Drill will be Wednesday @ 9:30.   Please review with your class so they may be prepared for this important safety drill.

Please address book fair theft before your browsing period.  All profits from this event are spent by Deb to create an outstanding resource for our school.  

Tuesday night will be a BLAST.  Your support of this event can be demonstrated with your presence and encouragement for your students to bring their families.  Spending time together in community adds value to our learning each and every day.

Please recognize the excellence of Becky West as this is NC school social workers week!

If you are willing to join a team to interview for the vacant lead secretary position, e-mail me today before 5pm.  We will map our plan and meet on Tuesday at our SIT meeting.  3:30 in Allison's room.
