The summer heat is upon us and we heating up here at Brunson for an outstanding 2017-2018 school year.  The custodians are DEEP cleaning every room and have moved to the Kindergarten hallway.  Laurie is cataloging thousands of books for our ELA instructional needs.  I am creating structures/schedules/calendars to support our staff as we improve all student's achievement across three dimensions.  I will create another post on Monday the 17th with pictures of our new playground.  Until then, a photo of a man outstanding in his field.

I am enjoying the work this summer.  Specifically the thought about a schedule that will support student learning and teacher efficacy.  I am focused on the notices and wonders as I create these structures and want to thank our Founding Faculty for guiding our school with honest feedback.  

I appreciate the response to co-lead instruction at the CREW session during the WSFCS Collaborative Learning Conference. The details of the presentation are below.  We will meet to develop our Learning Targets and plan the lesson on Monday, July 31st from 4:00-5:30 followed by a social at the Quiet Pint.

• Crew is a ritual, a coming together, and the creation of a close-knit student community. Crew is a place where character education, adventure, and team building are intentional, assuring success for all students. It’s a structure that fosters a sense of belonging within students, and a place where they can be their best selves.

EL ELA curriculum~

     We have received word that the EL ELA roll-out has been delayed until July 28th.  That means you have time for some more light summer reading...

building up your stamina for the curriculum reading.  

Thanks for understanding that EL wants ELA to be the best it can be and that takes time.

As we move into Faculty CREWS next year, we will need a few more awesome CREW Leaders.  Please let Jeff know if you are interested in stepping into this exciting leadership role.

• Info regarding ACCESS scores

HOPEFULLY, if everything goes as planned, all ACCESS score reports will be available to our school on June 12th. These reports will need to go home in the student's report card envelopes, so the ESL team participate in the envelope stuffing on the 13th to ensure that the ACCESS score reports make it home.

Be sure to communicate with the office as you plan events and activities for the week.  We will meet as a staff on Wednesday to go-go-mo with our notices and wonders!
