Monday, March 9th

We have an opportunity to inspire students to think critically about Time.  Daylight savings is a fact, how we feel about it today is different than how we feel about it in June.  Being a citizen requires us to consider not only others perspectives, but our own.  

This weekend I was asked to help solve a problem with household electronics and reflected upon our responsibility to assist students with conceptual understanding.  Please frame your math lessons for the 8 standards of mathematical practice.

We will have a solution for Yellow Bus delays after we hear from the remainder of our PLT groups Wednesday.

Friday, March 6th

We are being asked by SMO to identify areas that need their custodial attention.  Before you leave today, zip me an e-mail with kind, specific and helpful feedback.  I will forward each message to the SMO supervisors and we can assess their response.

Thursday, March 5th

Brunson Elementary staff and students use the habits of character and the Engineering Design Process to become reflective collaborative citizens who are intentional about growing our hearts and minds in order to create high-quality work, evaluate real world problems and positively contribute to our communities. 

Thanks to all our leaders from BELT who will examine the PQS documents to improve our mission statement for 2020.

State-Wide Tornado Drill this morning.  Be prepared.

Staff Crew after the yellow bus departs.  Please bring your 5 question BELT reflection form so we can align our individual purpose with the Brunson Mission Statement.

I was impressed by the visible model of Brunson School Culture during the primary election.  We are adding value to our community and I am proud of the work we do!

Tuesday, March 3rd

ELECTION DAY REMINDERS

• Strong supervision at Arrival and Dismissal
• All student traffic during the instructional day must be in the hallways and over the Bridge by Rooms 15/16
• Keep alert and supervise students

Our polling location is room #8 (Fedel) and the voters will only utilize the exterior classroom door.  Please support Emily and her students as they integrate with multiple classrooms throughout the day.

Monday, March 2nd

I am glad to be back from my experience at the BB&T Leadership Institute.  I was joined by 11 educational leaders from NC, and 1 from Florida, to examine the internal shift needed to strive for "conscious leadership."  More details will come over the next few weeks as I work on my implementation plan.
