Thursday, October 26th

We are crew, not passengers!  I so enjoyed thinking deeply with my faculty crew on Wednesday and look forward to our continued work. 

In the spirit of Crew, please honor all the subs we will have due to the EL Education National Conference.  As of 5:45 on Thursday we have 4 of 5 vacancies covered.   For Friday we drop a sub and have two unfilled positions.

Wednesday - Faculty CREW

We begin at 3:30 in the media center with a introduction and agenda by Dee Duncan. Sarah will then split us into 5 crews and we will head off to a classroom to work on the work.

• An EL Education school culture is planned for, developed, and sustained through practices that bring the community together, promote shared understandings, and encourage all community members to become crew, not passengers.

A crew of colleagues will fly to Chicago Thursday to participate in the EL Education National Conference.  Please support the guest teachers and sustain our HOC.

Tuesday, October 24th

Tomorrow is UNITY DAY - Please Wear something Orange and Encourage your entire class to participate.  It is one way we can demonstrate CREW.  

Dee Duncan will be here on Wednesday working on Student Crew lesson plans & Faculty Crew learning targets.

  

Monday, October 23rd

NC Check-ins and the End of Quarter assessments will be Tuesday and Wednesday.  Carefully read the e-mail messages from TC Natalie to ensure we are all working together.

I enjoyed our learning walk and learned a lot from our guests.  The feedback should be delivered this week from David Sisk.  

Faculty Crew on Wednesday.  We will begin in the media center @ 3:30, then transition to Crew locations for the remainder of the session.

Monday October 30th we will enjoy PD with Dee Duncan in the morning (8:00 until 11:00) and have the remainder of the day for working on the work.

Please wrap your PEP conferences this week as we strive to increase our family engagement and build relationships for student success.

FRIDAY

It is a great day to welcome our WSFCS learning walk team!  We will be joined by Dee Duncan from EL Education as we align our "look fors" to maximize our impact on student achievement. (always across three dimensions)

The new staff members enjoyed a dinner last night and we were pleased to be joined by our new Instructional Superintendent Rusty Hall.  There is an extra pan of lasagna and a couple of pies in the Be.Cafe fridge for your pleasure.

Tonya Guy will be filling in for Martha Howell until a sub arrives.  Please hold the AG students as she will inform you when she returns to her classroom.

Thursday, October 19th

Yesterdays presentation of your collective efforts continues to provide inspiration.  Ownership of our ELA is evident and will lead to the outcomes we desire for our students.  Thanks for this protocol and let's develop methods to bask in this glory again.

ERD - October 18th

We pack-up at 12:40
We hit the hallways at 12:45
We are in place to dismiss at 12:50

PTA will provide a "snack" in the Be.cafe from 1:15-1:45

ERD professional Development begins in the media center @ 1:45

• You will need a charged Chromebook or WSFCS laptop

Lunch is time conscious to the EXTREME.  There are no buffers or gaps to provide grace for the teacher(s) who arrive(s) late.  Please adhere to the schedule an honor each other!

The Period schedule is for recces by grade level. 

• Specialists will supervise by greeting each grade level and their teachers in the lobby before heading out to play
• Classroom teachers will then have 20 minutes of planning before returning to the playground
