SUMMER UPDATE #1 July 13, 2012

Good Afternoon!
Look what happened here in the summer storms!

We had minimal damage from this tree that fell across the back fence into Mobile #40.  Our WSFCS operations department were on the spot to get the tree removed and restore power for the Summer Enrichment program.  I also had the pleasure of spending some vacation time with my parents, Jack and Linda in Illinois.

On the faculty news line we have a new Kindergarten teacher for our growing Magnet program, Nancy Smoot will join our staff this fall from Sedge Garden Elementary.

I have interviewed for the open Guidance and teacher positions and will be able to share names in my next post.

Our Preliminary EOG data indicates our efforts to increase math skills have been successful!  All of our Sub-groups made AYP in Math.   Conversely, our reading data demands that we improve our service to our Hispanic/Latino, LEP & ED populations.  One method to shift our instruction is outlined below.  Please consider joining the SIOP cohort in  August if you have the opportunity.  I would also consider adding folks to the PBL institute in August if you have reconsidered, just give me a call or e-mail.

I will post again in three weeks - August 3rd!  Enjoy the summer...........Jeff
