After reflection on our staff crew session on Wednesday, I believe we "over-planned" We will improve our selection of topics to be presented and rely on this blog and e-mail to keep you informed and aware.

From the district office~ "The heat index is expected to climb to 95 and 96 today and tomorrow.  There will be no outside activities (PE or Recess) between 12 pm – 6 pm.  Always make sure students are well hydrated and pay close attention to students with a history of breathing issues."
Please continue with your scheduled recess time, but plan to hold indoor recess if it is the hours above. 

 

Twice a year the Evacuation Drill video and School safety video from transportation must be viewed by students...the beginning of school and second semester.  Please have all of your students watch these videos by Wednesday, Sept. 5th.  Use your attendance sheet to document that everyone has watched and then turn it in to me (place them in my mailbox or on my door).  Cut and paste these into your browser.

Reflections on Day One

On Wednesday we will have a faculty meeting from 3:30-4:30 in the media center.  

In an effort to be efficient on the morning PA, I am posting the child nutrition announcements in the blog for each classroom teacher to communicate before the trip to the cafe

• Today is Lucky Lunch Tray day in the cafe, check your tray for a "Leo the Lion" sticker and you could be an instant winner

Thanks for all of the OUTSTANDING work on transportation!!

• Do you have the colored bus tags for all of your students?
• If you are a K or 1st teacher, do you have the luggage tags to attach to the top of their bookbags?  Does the tag have the color coordinated paper insert containing student information?

A couple notes on parking:

• Please try to park in the section closest to the main bridge
• The only cars in the back alley are food service and maintenance

A couple notes on Lunch:

• Specialists will be in the cafe all day to assist and clean tables 
• Student sweepers and washers begin on Tuesday 
• Sit with your students through September and set the tone for lunch

A couple notes on car rider dismissal:

• Grade level areas remain the same
• Develop relationships and routines to maximize SAFETY FIRST then efficiency.

Enjoy the day and set your routines.  It is going to be a fantastic year of SA/3D growth for EVERY student at Brunson.

• Crew/PLT/Recess/Lunch schedules are posted in the copy room next to the master calendar
• The spreadsheet is in the "Be.staff CREW  Meetings 2018-2019" folder on google drive

Here are a few more items that will help you "honor the beginning."

• There will be no specials on Monday, August 27th
• Specials begin on Tuesday, August 28th
• The building will be available for teacher work this weekend
• Saturday - open @ 11 AM Close @ 4 PM
• Sunday -  open @ 11 AM Close @ 4 PM

AUGUST Arrives!

I look forward to starting the 2018/2019 school year.  Starting Monday, August 6th, staff may access classrooms and get started prior to our official first day, August 16th.  This is voluntary as is the AMAZING Skill/ALL block PD session on August 15th.

All staff will get an email (Friday) and phone call (Monday) with further details regarding the schedule for August.
