Thursday, June 13th

We are proud of our students who persevered with the ELA administration on Wednesday!  Let's provide a CREW atmosphere for the 5th grade science scholars today!

Folder checks and roster meetings continue in the cafeteria.  We will meet Friday in the cafe at 8:00 for a breakfast sponsored by Imprints.  Following the breakfast we will have our closing faculty crew session in the media center.

We are working with accountability and Becky to have Report cards printed and ready for Friday.  Stay tuned and thanks for your support.

Tuesday, June 11, 2019

With the rains last night we put plan B into action for field day.  Grade levels will report to the gym;

  • 3rd Grade 8:45-9:35
  • 4th Grade 9:45-10:35
  • 5th Grade 10:45-11:35

Kona Ice will serve our students a kiddie cup AFTER your lunch.  Teachers will be treated to a kiddie or klassic size.

EdPlan will be shutting down on June 14th. All data collected needs to be put into EdPlan by 5pm that day. This is critical as students move into another grade next year and we do not want to start back at "square one".

Transportation sheets for next year were placed in your mailboxes yeaterday. Please make sure they are inserted in report card envelopes.

I want to share my gratitude for all who supported the fifth grade celebration. They are in the midst of a "major" transition to develop agency for the next phase of school. The rest of us, students, teachers and families, have similar "mid-major" transitions. My belief is we develop the agency to be alone through our community involvement. Soak up the last few days together as they are instrumental for our extended break, and subsequent transitions, to be fruitful.

Friday, June 7th

Congrats to our former Brunson Students who will be graduating this weekend.  Celebrate and encourage your current students to reach high!

Invest in the relationships you have with students to the last the day of school and beyond!  They need to see the power of acceptance and unconditional love.

Forsyth Tech is hosting a Technology Camp for 9-13 year-old students.  They are looking for tech savvy instructors to work the morning or afternoon sessions.  See me for more information about this opportunity.

Wednesday, June 5th

A few make-up tests today followed by a Staff Crew meeting!

Our Blog post from May 20th referred to the final Crew sessions as:
  • June 5th @ regular times to prepare for field day events
  • June 10th @ 8:45 for all K-2 Crews
  • June 11th @ 8:45 for all 3-5 Crews
Due to retesting sessions, I am postponing student crew today and asking for each grade level to organize a time to prepare students for Field Day.  Joel will present at Staff Crew this afternoon so we can all be on the same page.
