Optional Thursday

So Thursday is optional?  What should TEACHERS do?  Let me help you with 2 options.

  1. Every full-time certified teacher will report to Brunson for a 7 hour work-day as we will be open between the hours of 7:30 and 5:00.  You choose the seven hours and prioritize the work that you need to accomplish.
  2. OR you do not report to Brunson and one Annual Leave Day or Personal Day will be deducted form your balance.

We (teachers) do not have any other choices.  The day is similar to January 21st a Rs day where you are expected to work or take leave.  We will not make up today or tomorrow with students, so if we are to get paid, we work, or take leave.

TEACHER ASSISTANTS and PRT's are not expected to report to work and will not be charged an Annual Leave day.  The 183 day work calendar for these employees will shift and allow these valued employees to work when kids are present and at the end of the year to assist with organization of documents.

So the only other clarification I can make is with regards to our new teachers without 4 years of service.  TEN AL days are earned throughout the year and used on the designated L days.  If you are not sure if your leave balance will cover your staying home, relax there are plenty of L days that your could work in place of reporting to work Thursday.  Three of the days during Spring Break and 2 days after we dismiss are designated L days that we can adjust for you.

Bottom Line - BE SAFE and make whatever decision fits you.  We will make adjustments on a case by case basis to ensure that each of us has an accurate record which reflects the actual days worked here at Brunson.

Wednesday MM - Day "E"

Good Morning!

Snow covered walks and cold temps are the order of our day.  this is the latest communication from Mr Walker.

Did anyone find my hat?  I will be looking Friday as I aim to complete a walk-through in every classroom looking for the posted objective, AND the level of engagement.  This data can help inform our work in springtime LTMs, after Andy and I collect sufficient data to be valid and reliable.

Thursday MM - Day "A" Third Quarter

Good Morning!

Our final Magnet Tour today at Noon!  All magnet applications are due before 4:30 pm on Friday the 24th of January.

My favorite stocking hat is missing.  It is a grey wool knit, that has a small tag "CT" for centennial trading company.  I have other hats, but that one is fits just so.  I remember carrying it with me last week and I left it sit in someones classroom.  Thanks for the help!

We have no timetable on the new mobile for James.  Our CO leader, John Craven, came by on Tuesday to gather documents to present to the City/County inspectors who must sign off on the project before we "break ground."  James appreciates your concerns and questions but we have a plan to inform you of any changes;
  1. When we have new information, James will wear a floppy hat all day.
  2. That hat will activate you to ask, "why are you wearing that hat?"
  3. James will share the information he has on the trailer.
So, until you see James with the Floppy hat, we will have business as usual with Music in the classroom.

PRINTER ALERT

We are collecting data to identify the staff members who are abusing this tool.  In December the number of CLASS SETS and MULTIPLE WEBPAGES that were sent to our printers was egregious.  Please see Stacy for assistance in conservative printing techniques.  Utilize the mantra "Think before you Print"
