I am looking forward to working at school and home over the next week.

A note from our HR department;

• Teacher Intent is an Administrative Resources connected database and is only accessible from within the WSFCS network. The form can be completed from any computer at any WSFCS location. Outside the WSFCS network (at home) access is no longer available.

I will create another post Tuesday and then will be done until we return on Monday. The building is open the 30th and 31st from 8-4. Only custodial staff will be in the building on April 1st and 2nd.

Tuesday MM - March 24th

Good Morning!

EOQ Math today!  Thanks to Laurie for her organization and communication as we assess our instruction.

Our fantastic and thoughtful "Backpack Program" volunteers will deliver supplemental food to the classrooms this week.  Students shall take them home daily to store for the spring break.  I have spoken with the 4th and 5th grade classes and will come to your class if requested to encourage students to support this process.

Great fire drill yesterday thanks!

One more interview for the lead secretary position today @ 4pm.  Thanks again to Bonnie for steering the ship in this time of need.

I will be at a magnet meeting today @ 10:00.  I will also inquire about optional work days over spring break.

TEN DAYS of excellence!  Bring your best and engage students in meaningful academic pursuits through the end of the day on March 27th.  We will enjoy spring break knowing we have set the stage for the last quarter.

PTA Birthday Bash for February and March will be Tuesday.  

Unity Day - We wore orange in October to show our unity toward a bully free school.  On the 17th we will wear Green.  Andy will have more on the announcements this morning!

Tuesday MM - March 10th

Good Morning

Please keep the family of Konnoak student Alexander Torralba Perez in your thoughts and prayers. Our school family will respond with empathy and grace as one of our Kindergarten students in Marclea's class is related to Alexander and was present when the tragedy happened.  

Our students will need our best today as some will be deeply affected while others are oblivious to the news.   Speak with compassion and  listen well.  You are the leaders they look to for clues on how to react. 

Unfortunately, I will be at an elementary Principals meeting this morning and will return after lunch.  The agenda is posted in the blog documents folder.

Ecolab Inc. will sponsor its Visions for Learning Teachers Grants again this year. A quality education is one of our greatest assets and Ecolab is proud to continue our support for educators in the Piedmont Triad area. Ecolab will award a total of $77,000 to qualified grant recipients. Please find attached the 2015 Visions for Learning Grant application to share with your schools.

This morning I will be at the EB participating in a PD titled, "Developing Ready Schools and Ready Classrooms."  I look forward to catching up after lunch.

Thanks to our SIT chair (Allison Phelps) and vice chair (Lisa Weber) for leading a great review meeting with our feedback committee. (Patsy Squire, Connie Rodgers & Janie Costello)  We will share the feedback at our faculty meeting on March 25th.

The WSFCS district-wide Tornado Drill will be Wednesday @ 9:30.   Please review with your class so they may be prepared for this important safety drill.

Please address book fair theft before your browsing period.  All profits from this event are spent by Deb to create an outstanding resource for our school.  

Tuesday night will be a BLAST.  Your support of this event can be demonstrated with your presence and encouragement for your students to bring their families.  Spending time together in community adds value to our learning each and every day.

Please recognize the excellence of Becky West as this is NC school social workers week!
