Wednesday, May 22nd

The impending transition at the end of the year creates stressors that manifest in aberrant behaviors.  We must increase our supervision to support all students.
  • Be early to all your supervisory responsibilities
  • Engage students in positive interactions
  • Put your phones away
  • Everybody works arrival and dismissal
    • Specialists and IF’s, now free of PLT duty, will support car riders and bus dismissal in areas of highest need
  • Drop off and pick up specials on time
  • Be intentional with your movement at recess
  • Arrive and leave the lunch room on time
  • Create goal times for bathroom breaks
My final request for this topic:
  • Engaging a student who is struggling with behavior should start with feedback that is Kind, Specific and Helpful.
    • When we begin our correction to a student with, “What are you thinking?”  They see our judgmental body language and facial expressions as Harsh, Vague and Debilitating
