The purpose of the Classified Employee of the Year Program is to honor annually a Classified Employee who displays exemplary characteristics while carrying out the duties of his or her job.  The term "classified employees" or "classified personnel" as used in the School Board policy means individuals employed by the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education in a position of employment for which certification by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is not required.  Classified employees include, but are not limited to, individuals in the following areas of employment: housekeeping, food service, maintenance, transportation, secretarial, clerical, teaching assistants, educational aides, paraprofessionals, finance, purchasing, IT (information technology), research, and public relations.
Please see the attachment for C.E.Y nomination guidelines. (in the blog documents folder of the staff shared drive here at Brunson)
Again, the nomination window opens today (November 1, 2012) and will close at 5:00pm on November 30, 2012

Fall 2012 READY Regional Outreach Meetings

Principals and a teacher representative from each public school in North Carolina have been invited to attend the Fall 2012 READY Regional Outreach Meetings in November and December to give school-level staff more information on:
    the new Instructional Improvement System;
    the Educator Effectiveness System; and
    the General Assembly's new school accountability model.

A key feature of the fall meetings will be additional time for questions and answers about these topics, so if you have questions you'd like asked and you are not your school's teacher representative at these meetings, please share your question with your principal so that as many questions as possible can be addressed. It would be great if we had enough room to accommodate all of North Carolina's more than 92,000 teachers, but we are committed to posting the FAQs generated at the meetings and all presentation materials online at www.ncpublicschools.org/ready .

I am looking for a teacher who is interested in learning more and then sharing information with the staffZip me an e-mail if you are interested in attending with me on the afternoon of November 26th.
