EOQ and an interesting link

Here are the dates for the last round of EOQs:

March 23: Science (only the 2nd half of the Ecosystems/Landforms section)
March 26: Reading
March 27: Math CA
March 28: Math CI
March 28 and 29: Make-ups

This means that the short math (# 1-12) will be completed AFTER long math (#13-50). Please monitor your students to be sure that they start with #13 on Tuesday. There will be 7 passages and 50 questions on the reading portion, more than they have had so far this year. This is a good time to talk with them about stamina, and ways to take mental breaks. More passages doesn't equal more difficult--instill confidence!

All staff, we will ask instructional assistants to join groups so that they 1) get to know the students, 2) establish routines for supporting the administrator and 3) become familiar with the accommodations that may be in place.

On a different note...The following link is a letter written by undocumented immigrant students. It reminds us of how their needs may be different, but the high expectations should remain.
